In the summer of 2023, I was selected out of 2,000 applicants to complete a Connected Car internship with Mercedes-Benz USA Headquarters. Throughout the duration of this internship, I accomplished several projects that closely related to my field of study in Interactive Digital Media, worked with the most amazing technology for one of the world's most recognized and prestigious vehicle brands, and gained real-world experience in a professional corporate environment. Demonstrated below are some of the projects I had the honor of working on during my internship. Enjoy!
For this project, I was prompted to take on the hypothetical role of a customer and review the shopping experience of Mercedesme Connect's online store to those of BMW, Audi, and other popular eCommerce stores. After browsing each website, I compiled several slides that demonstrate concepts and features that could be implemented for a more interesting consumer shopping/browsing process. This project permitted me to practice thinking more objectively regarding domestic and competing products and services to discover what idealization can be administered in the future to stand out from the competition.
For this project, I was tasked with receiving feedback about the successes and improvement opportunities customers encountered while utilizing the Mercedesme Connect app. After examining comments expressed within two months on the Apple Store and Google Play Store, I understood the importance of understanding what customers say about our product because it directly correlates to their experience with the Mercedes-Benz brand as a whole. As a company, Mercedes-Benz strives for excellence in treating customers as part of the MB family when they invest in purchasing a vehicle, so the digital products that were designed to enhance their driving experience should be nothing short of amazing, too.
My objective for this project was to envision a more cohesive layout and webpage features for the Mercedesme Connect Retail website that would be more intuitive and useful for Mercedes-Benz dealers. In my PowerPoint slides, I go into detail regarding specific UX/UI improvements I would make to certain web pages, including adding extra interactive features, making the interactive experience more personalized to the individual dealer, and more pleasant UI.
For this collaborative effort, I, along with six other interns, created an elaborate marketing presentation describing what plan the Mercedes-Benz company can implement to better sell and promote their electric vehicles in 2023 and the upcoming years. I enjoyed getting to work with some of the most diverse and creative people in the business to formulate this plan!
