Having completed my certification in UX Design, I learned to better appreciate the art of centering design for interactive products, interfaces, and experiences around the attribute of empathy. Understanding the real needs of users and implementing innovation to create meaningful experiences with digital products that are useful, useable, enjoyable, and equitable is the catalyst of excellent design. Through sketching wireframes, mapping out user journeys, and configuring empathy maps, I am working to provide user-centered design solutions to everyone. After all, designing for accessibility benefits all of us, and that's something I am aiming to emulate in my design process. I am pleased to share the progress of my journey with you!
To express quality execution in designing user personas and user journeys, I was prompted to select a website or web-based service I recently used in which I had a specific goal to achieve. I was to reflect on the entire experience, from what initially attracted me to the site, navigating through it, interacting with it, all the way to the outcome. Based on this experience, I drafted a user persona representing me, and Imani was born! This project allowed me to compile and use demographic information, motivations, goals, and any specific needs or frustrations I encountered to Identify pain points or challenges I faced and suggest design modifications or solutions that could enhance the experience for users just like myself.
For this exercise, I selected a webpage with intriguing features to challenge my eye for design and create visual copywork. The task involved reproducing different existing web pages using a design tool of my choice and accurately replicating the visual elements, layout, and functionality of the original webpage while honing my proficiency with design tools and techniques. I copied two different web pages! This exercise helped me improve my skills in using design software, understanding user interface design, and paying attention to user experience details, which require careful attention to detail and a solid understanding of design principles.
This was a quick UX practice design template that I completed as part of a Google UX certification. The objective was to examine the provided mockup for a pizza delivery app and identify all of the ways in which it exemplifies quality UX design principles and accessibility, the criteria offered to examine the app being useful, useable, equitable, and enjoyable for potential users.
